Prather Entertainment Group is a company consisting of three professional year-round dinner theatres and a national tour company. The dinner theatres feature Broadway-style musicals and comedies combined with a dinner buffet. Children's Theatre and concerts are also featured throughout the season.

Prather Entertainment Group's national tour division tours one non-Equity musical tour each year. 
Dutch Apple located in the heart of the Pennsylvania Dutch Country, Lancaster, Pennsylvania and only three hours from New York City with accessibility by train or car and one hour to Baltimore.
Broadway Palm in Ft Myers, Florida is near Fort Myers Beach and beautiful Sanibel Island. For water sports enthusiast or Sun Gods, it's a paradise.


Our actors are all professionals, most of them having college degrees in Theatre Performance, Musical Theatre, Dance and other Performing Arts categories and are selected at national auditions each year.
  • Rehearsals begin 14 days prior to the Opening Date.
  • 8-9 Performances per week.
  • Multiple show contracts available with the same or different theatres. When national tours are scheduled for our productions, a tour contract will be issued.
  • Contract includes housing, meal on show days, health club membership and transportation.
Main Stage Productions
If you are an adult performer 8 – 10 shows per week.
•    Evening performances are Tue – Sat, (6:55pm call time) 7:30pm performance
•    Twilight performances are Sunday, (6:25pm call time) 7:00pm performance
•    Matinee performances generally occur on Tue, Wed, Thurs, Sat, and Sun.
(12:40pm call time) 1:15pm performance

If you are a youth performer we double cast our youth roles in the Main Stage shows to help alleviate the demand of a full show schedule.   4 - 5 shows per week, which will include matinee performances.  There will be a few days that will require you to be dismissed from school early for the rehearsals and the performances (If cast we will provide you with the school clearance papers that are required).  

Children’s Theatre Productions
Roles are usually not double cast for this series.  Actors will perform in 2 - 5 shows a week.
•    Morning performances are Tue - Fri (10:55am call time) 11:30am performance
•    Matinee performances are Tue – Sun (12:10pm call time) 12:45pm performance
•    Evening  performances are (5:55pm call time) 6:30pm performance

AUDITIONS FOR A CHRISTMAS STORY – Monday, August 10th with Callbacks set for Sunday, August 23, 2015.

YOUTH Boys and Girls 9-14 years old; all performers MUST look like children, not teenagers (Youth 24 bar vocal cut)

ADULTS Male and Female ages 20 and up for ensemble and older character roles. (Adults 16 bar vocal cut)

Audition Requirements:
Please prepare a short vocal selection to be sung with a piano player that shows off your voice and personality. Bring sheet music in the correct key. Also, please bring a headshot or school photo and a resume with any performing or class experience. Be prepared to learn a brief tap combination. A Christmas Story will start rehearsals on October 29th. The production runs November 12 through December 31. Youth Roles will be double cast to help offset the demand of the schedule. Youth cast will be required to perform in 4 – 5 shows a week which includes matinee productions. School Clearance papers must be signed off on for participation.


Ralphie (Lead) Male Ages 9 – 12 Caucasian

To play 9 going on 10 actor’s voice must be unchanged. Must emulate the kid you would like to have as a next door neighbor. Must be 5’ or shorter, must be an excellent singer and able to carry a show. Voice: boy’s unchanged voice, high belter, low F# to high D; ability to tap dance is a big plus. Prepare an uptempo Broadway Belt song that displays range, personality, and strong lyric interpretation. 24 bar cut

Randy (Supporting) Male Ages 8 – 9 Caucasian

Ralphie’s younger brother, must be 4’10” or shorter, smaller than Ralphie, can be a bit awkward and offbeat, admires his big brother, but won’t admit it. Voice: boy’s unchanged voice, high belter, low f# to high C#; must be able to tap; prepare an uptempo Broadway belt song that displays range, personality and strong lyric interpretation. 24 bar cut

Scut Farkus (Chorus / Ensemble) Male Ages 12 – 14 All Ethnicities

The bully, Must be 5’ or shorter, a meanie, lean taller than the other kids; there’s nothing about him you want to like, he’s that kid you always made sure to avoid in school; gruff character voice, should be able to tap

Flick (Chorus / Ensemble) Male 10 – 13, All Ethnicities

Ralphie’s Classmate, He will sing a song with his tongue "stuck” to a flagpole, must be funny and natural, strong singer, voice should be Belter (unchanged voice) low B to high C# must be able to tap, must be 5’ or shorter

Schwartz (Chorus/Ensemble) Male 10 – 13, All Ethnicities

Ralphie’s Classmate, voice should be Belter (unchanged voice) low b to high C#, must be able to tap, must be 5’ or shorter.

Grover Dill (Chorus / Ensemble) Male 9 – 12 All Ethnicities

Farkus’s sidekick, a smaller kid, voice should be Belter (unchanged voice) low B to high C#, must be able to tap, should be 4’10” or shorter

Chlidren’s Female Ensemble (Chorus / Ensemble) Females 9 – 14 All Ethnicities

Children’s chorus, must be high belters, sing from a low B to high D#; must be stong and engaging performers, must be able to tap, must be 4’11” or shorter.

Videos and/or audio auditions are always welcome accompanied by a picture and resume.

On select Saturday evenings, the current show cast performs after the show in the lobby. They perform show tunes, contemporary hits and comedic songs. The bar is open during the cabaret. You don't need reservations or to attend the show to attend the cabaret.
